по изучению дисциплины «Иностранный язык (английский язык)»
для самостоятельной работы студентов 1 курса

очно-заочной, заочной и вечерней формы обучения

направления подготовки 080200 Менеджмент

ПОЯСНИТЕЛЬНАЯ ЗАПИСКА


Настоящие методические рекомендации предназначены для самостоятельной работы студентов 1 курса очно-заочной, заочной и вечерней форм обучения направления подготовки 080200 Менеджмент в ходе изучения дисциплины «Иностранный язык (английский язык)». Рекомендации предусматривают не менее 126 часов самостоятельной работы студентов в 1 семестре и 126 часов во 2 семестре 1го курса обучения иностранному языку.

Методические рекомендации составлены на основе рабочей учебной программы изучения дисциплины «Иностранный язык (английский язык)» для вышеназванного направления.

Данная программа предполагает разделение содержания дисциплины на два модуля: основной и профессиональныймодули.

Тематика и речевой материал основного модуля реализует коммуникативный подход в обучении и предполагает такую функциональную организацию изучаемого материала, которая позволяет обучающимся в дальнейшем решать коммуникативные задачи, связанные с социальной активностью человека. Вместе с тем содержание основного модуля изначально профессионально ориентировано и в силу этого является подготовительным этапом для изучения профессионального модуля.

Содержание профессионального модуля направлено на более глубокое и детальное ознакомление с основными понятиями и терминами предметной области «Менеджмент» и призвано сформировать у обучающихся навыки и умения как для дальнейшего изучения иностранного языка, так и для его непосредственного использования в профессиональной сфере.

Методические рекомендации построены на основе аутентичного учебно-методического комплекса, что, по нашему мнению, позволяет максимально приблизить обучающегося к овладению основными языковыми и профессиональными компетенциями.

Учебный материал организован по функционально-тематическому принципу и состоит из 12 разделов (тем). Работа по усвоению речевого материала каждой темы включает в себя: аудирование, чтение, говорение и письмо. Работа над языковым материалом осуществляется путем выполнения лексических, грамматических и фонетических заданий. Помимо этого в качестве обучающего материала в конце каждой темы для рассмотрения предлагается конкретная профессионально-деловая ситуация (деловой кейс), что, на наш взгляд, повышает мотивацию и активизирует усвоение языкового материала.

Для контроля речевых навыков и проверки усвоения языкового материала обучающимся предлагаются четыре промежуточных теста, включающих задания по аудированию, чтению, письму, говорению, а также грамматике и лексике.

По окончании изучения всех 12 тем обучаемые выполняют итоговый тест.

Тесты 1-4 выполняются в письменной форме и сдаются преподавателю.

Рекомендуемое время выполнения тестовых письменных заданий:

Входной тест – 60 мин.

Clara Furse is not a big woman, but she has a big job: chief executive of the London Stock Exchange. It is one of the biggest exchanges in the world – $504 billion in shares is traded every day. That’s more than Tokyo’s And New York’s exchanges put together! And Furse is the first woman chief executive of the exchange.

The London Stock Exchange is also one of the oldest exchanges in the world and is an important part of the British economy. But Furse is Canadian – she was born in Canada and her parents are Dutch. She speaks English, Dutch, French, Spanish and German – all fluently.

Furse is a graduate of the London School of Economics. She began her working career in 1979 as a broker. Between 1979 and 1999, she worked for several companies, moving up from broker to director, then managing director. In 1998, Furse became group chief executive at Credit Lyonnais Rouse, and then began her job at the London Stock Exchange in 2000. Fortune magazine says she is one of the 50 most powerful businesswomen outside of the US.

Though she is very busy at work, her private life is very important to her. When she isn’t working, she spends a lot of time with her three children.

Small Rooms, Big Idea

Five years ago, businessman Simon Woodroffe had a good idea. He was in bed in first class on an international flight when he decided to open a hotel. The bed in the aeroplane gave him an idea. He could open a hotel with rooms like the sleeping area in an aeroplane.

Now travellers in some of Britain’s airports sleep in these small, low-cost rooms. The rooms are very small, only seven square metres, but they are very convenient. They are in the airport, so travellers who want only a night’s sleep and a shower can save money and travelling time. Woodroffe calls his hotel “Yotel”.

Each room has a TV, a desk and a shower and costs £50. You can pay £70 for a bigger room that has a couch. Press a button, and the couch changes to a bed.

The small rooms are very popular with travellers. Woodroffe thinks he will open more Yotels in city centres.
